TLC recently released the Sister Wives season 19 trailer, and, in it, polygamist patriarch Kody Brown comes off as cruel, mean spirited, and an overall jerk. 55-year-old Kody made his television debut in 2010, and is known for having four wives and 18 children. The original purpose of the show was to present the image of a functional polygamist family, to counteract all the bad stereotypes that had come to be associated with the lifestyle. Instead, over the years, Sister Wives came to chronicle the dissolution of the Brown family.
By the end of Sister Wives season 18, three of Kody’s four wives had walked away from the plural family. 52-year-old Christine Brown was the first to leave, followed by Janelle Brown, 55, and Meri, 53, leaving Kody in an accidentally monogamous relationship with his fourth wife, 45-year-old Robyn Brown. With a new season just around the corner, viewers are sure to learn more about the fallout from the downfall of the Brown family.
With Sister Wives season 19 on the horizon, TLC released a trailer for the upcoming season on YouTube. The two-minute teaser presents Kody in all his glory. He comes off as angry, bitter, and even cruel. As can be expected, the Sister Wives patriarch clearly takes no responsibility for his multiple failed marriages, blaming it all on his wives.
At one point in the trailer, during an on-camera interview, Kody says, “blame yourself if I don’t love you, okay?”
She Gets Much Of His Rage
During the Sister Wives season 19 trailer, it’s clear that Kody’s usual cruelty to Meri will continue. Over the years, Kody often said the most terrible things to Meri, even telling her that he was no longer attracted to her, and that he never loved her. The trailer teases an emotional scene between Kody and his first wife, in which they fight about their failed marriage. During the scene, he basically reiterates that he never loved her. “It’s not divorce that sucks,” Kody says about Meri in an on-camera interview, “it’s marrying the wrong person.”

“What did I do wrong?”
If Kody doesn’t understand what he did wrong, he can watch Sister Wives seasons 1 through 18 for a full accounting of his many mistakes, missteps, and terrible decisions. If Kody isn’t careful, his last remaining wife will follow his first three wives out the door.
