Kody was doing so so he could adopt Robyn’s three biological kids from her previous marriage. Meri then thought she was going through with the divorce for the “family’s best interest.” But it made things worse as her relationship with Kody began to suffer. A Reddit user argued that Kody should have owed Meri financial compensation due to their legal divorce.
But that didn’t happen. Instead, Meri finally had to pull the plug on her and Kody’s bond by involving their Mormon church for a spiritual release. In such a process, a representative from the church grants them it. There is no financial compensation in such a case. So, fans feel Kody ended up scamming Meri by not implying anything during their legal divorce.
Viewers also know that Meri was one of the family’s breadwinners. All three wives, except for Robyn, would pool in a fixed amount for the family, which, ultimately, Kody and his favorite wife would use the most.
