Mahmoud Al Sherbiny’s Journey After 90 Day Fiancé: New Beginnings or More Drama?

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Mahmoud El Sherbiny’s life has been shrouded in mystery ever since he and Nicole Sherbiny went missing from season 8. Nicole and Mahmoud had been together for several years when they first debuted in TOW season 4. Nicole had married Mahmoud and moved to Egypt just days after meeting him during a spiritual trip. Nicole even converted to Islam for Mahmoud, but life in Cairo became unbearable for her after two months there. Mahmoud loved Nicole. However, Nicole was fed up with Mahmoud asking her how to dress and who to meet.

Nicole gave their marriage another chance even though she was about to sign her divorce papers. Nicole went back to Egypt but her quarrels with Mahmoud never ended. She wanted Mahmoud to move to the U.S. In America, Nicole felt free to drink and wear revealing outfits, much to the annoyance of her husband. Mahmoud had walked out of Nicole’s house and also accused her of cheating on him. Nicole and Mahmoud’s issues were far from being resolved. However, their story didn’t reach a conclusion and several questions were left unanswered since Nicole and Mahmoud were not on the Tell All.

Mahmoud Was Arrested In February 2024

Was Nicole Mahmoud’s Alleged Victim?

90 Day Fiancé blogger Merry Pants first posted the shocking news of Mahmoud’s arrest in February 2024. Mahmoud was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic violence on February 20, 2024, according to InTouch. Mahmoud had allegedly abused Nicole during an altercation. As per Ashley’s Reality, Mahmoud was booked under a different last name than the one “El Sherbiny” that he uses on the show. Mahmoud was booked into Los Angeles’ Northeast Division station and was being held on $20,000 bail. He was reportedly released on bond on the same day when a friend took care of the bail.

Mahmoud & Nicole Are Together After The Arrest

In March 2024, Nicole and Azan had seemingly let bygones be bygones and gotten back together. Blogger Shabooty posted about the couple’s current relationship status and confirmed Nicole and Mahmoud were still together. A fan had informed the blogger that they saw Nicole and Mahmoud shopping at a grocery store in Silverlake where they work. The fan also mentioned that Nicole looked great, but Mahmoud looked like a “tragic mess.” The fan expressed surprise over the fact that Nicole had still not given Mahmoud the boot. Interestingly, no photos of Nicole and Mahmoud together have been shared so far.

By July 2024, Nicole and Mahmoud were no longer a part of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? The couple’s last episode on season 8 had aired on May 19, 2024. While both Nicole and Mahmoud aren’t really active on social media, the Los Angeles-based woman announced the launch of her new business venture to her supporters. Nicole revealed her online clothing boutique named Maude & Aster was finally open. Mahmoud had supported Nicole’s business page by following page. However, his name is missing from the follower list of @maudeandaster in October 2024.

Mahmoud told his Instagram followers in April 2024 that he was back in Egypt. This time, there was photo evidence since Mahmoud himself posted a video where he could be seen surrounded by friends and family in the streets of Egypt. Mahmoud was celebrating Eid al-Fitr in Cairo and Nicole was nowhere to be seen. The crowd that had gathered around Mahmoud only seemed to have men in it so Nicole joining him was out of the question. However, Mahmoud still had selfies of him with Nicole all over his Instagram feed hinting at marital bliss.

Still, Mahmoud seemingly suggested that HEA season 8 was the last of him that fans had seen in the franchise with a not-so-subtle message. Mahmoud altered his bio to add a strange statement that took his followers by surprise. Mahmoud wrote, “(I hate reality TV) as he was perhaps regretting putting his entire life story on reality TV for all to watch and judge when he could have dealt with his relationship issues with Nicole silently and in peace. Nicole seemed to have agreed with her husband. She added “Cairo, Egypt / Los Angeles, California” to her bio.

Despite his arrest at the start of the year, Mahmoud did not address it at all on social media.

He resurfaced on Instagram after months in September 2024 to share a cryptic update. Mahmoud posted a video where he was posing in front of a city skyline at night surrounded by pretty lights. A voiceover in the video did all the talking. Mahmoud wanted his fans to know what he was up to in his life without really revealing whether he was in the U.S. or had moved to Cairo for good, without or with Nicole.

“Allah has a plan for you. You are exactly where he wants you to be.”

Mahmoud’s message had him talk about his faith on Instagram. The voiceover told listeners to not carry anxieties for the future because it isn’t a lost power. Mahmoud wanted them to know that whatever was happening in his life or theirs was God’s plan, and it was the best plan. “Do your part and leave the rest to Allah,” the track advised. Mahmoud wished to keep trusting God even if he didn’t understand why he was going through whatever he was after 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? ended.
